Ear Candling/Thermo Auricular Therapy
Ear candling has been used for many centuries by many cultures around the world.
I use Biosun ear candles which are hollow tubes with a filter which prevents any candle residue entering the ear. They are made from unbleached cotton, beeswax ( a pure emollient) and infused with the magical scent of honey extract and Indian herbs such as Sage (warming, anti- bacterial and clears the head) St Johns Wort (analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, soothing and healing) and Chamomile (soothing and anti-inflammatory) which all promote healing during this therapeutic treatment.
They are guaranteed herbicide and pesticide free and made to EC guidelines.
What Happens During Your Treatment
Following consultation to ensure that you are suitable for the treatment, you will be asked to lie down on the couch in a comfortable position on your side. I will then light the top end of the candle and gently insert it and hold it in place. At this point I then send healing energies to you. You may hear some gentle fizzing or crackling as the candle burns. During the treatment a vacuum is created in the ear canal caused by the chimney effect of the burning candle. This process gently massages the ear drum, bringing air into the nasal passage and regulating pressure in the sinuses whilst relieving congestion in the ear, nose and throat area. It also stimulates energy points and reflex zones. It takes between ten and twenty minutes for the candle to burn, this process is then repeated on the other side.
The treatment is finished with a wonderfully relaxing holistic facial and head massage which helps lymphatic drainage.
It is recommended that after the initial treatment a second treatment is carried out within seven days and if necessary a final treatment a week or two after that.
This treatment has benefits for many problems related to the ear, such as problem earwax, glue ear, headaches, migraines, sinusitis, hay fever and noises in the ear.
Thermo Auricular Therapy is very soothing, calming and relaxing, helping to calm the mind and soothe the head and ears.
